Using hyperbole (exaggeration), write a poem that carries a strong emotional message in protest of a particular event or action that has recently occurred somewhere outide the U.S. and is newsworthy. Think of (or research) unusual details that might make your poem seem more real, as if you were living amid the event. It might help to speak for a particular group or side in a conflict that might not, for one reason or another, be allowed a voice. You may use irony if appropriate. Minimum 200 words.
